Emma Cookson-Wood
Irish Dance and Jazz Dance
I trained from age 3 in Ballet, Tap, Modern & Jazz following the ISTD and RAD syllabus. I knew I wanted to be a Dance Teacher from a very young age and follow in my amazing teachers footsteps!!
At age 11 I also began training as an Irish Dancer and this quickly became one of my favourite dance styles. I even appeared in some performances of ‘The Essence of Ireland’ during their UK tour at age 15.
I was lucky enough to attend a dance school that gave lots of opportunity to perform in the many professional shows that came to Blackpool’s theatres so I have had lots of performance experience over the past 20+ years.
At 18 I went on to study at Preston’s Dance College for 3 years, where I trained to become a professional dancer and qualified Dance Teacher in ISTD Tap and Modern.
I currently am finishing my qualification with the World Irish Dancing Association.
