Exam Information

Taking a dance exam is not just about performing, it offers many benefits to help dancers grow both as a dancer and as a person:

Structured learning: Exams give dancers clear goals to work towards, helping them build their skills step by step.
Personal development: Preparing for an exam develops discipline, focus, time management, and resilience.
Confidence and self esteem: Performing in front of an examiner and receiving constructive feedback will boost dancers’ confidence and help them celebrate their achievements.
Social and performance skills: Dancers will gain experience in performing under pressure and working alongside fellow performers.
Recognition of achievement: Successfully completing the exam gives dancers a certificate and formal recognition of their progress, a great way to celebrate their hard work!

The teachers will select dancers that they think are ready to take their exams, which usually take place in the July.

Dancers will learn a number of set exercises in their weekly classes. There will also be extra exam coaching dates. It’s crucial that your dancer attends the exam coaching.

Following their exam, they can move up into the next grade!
