Modern Theatre Dance

Learn Modern Theatre Dance in Longridge

Modern Theatre Dance is a rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities.

The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps, and turns which all need strength and flexibility. It supports all other aspects of dance, from Pre Primary where dancers learn to march in time and use musical instruments, to Intermediate where dancers effortlessly glide across the floor with strong technique.

Modern dance combines Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary and Rhythm work to create a versatile dancer. It’s different from ballet and contemporary, it aids them and it’s good to learn because it helps all other styles of dance, it helps to create a well rounded dancer.

Modern classes really help to prepare a student for future careers within dance.
